⛽

Cheapest fuel near you, and on your way

Live prices from petrol stations across the UK, straight from the government’s Fuel Finder scheme. Stations have to report price changes within 30 minutes, so what you see is what you’ll pay.

  • Unleaded, super unleaded, diesel and premium diesel, sorted by price or distance
  • The cheapest stations along your route, and whether a detour is worth the extra miles
  • Price history, and an alert when your local station drops its price
🧾

A mileage log that fills itself in

Turn on automatic trips and RumFuel records each drive, even with the app closed. Mark it business or personal with one tap, or set rules so regular trips sort themselves.

  • HMRC mileage allowance worked out for you: 45p a mile for the first 10,000 business miles, then 25p
  • PDF and spreadsheet reports for your tax return, plus Xero, QuickBooks and FreeAgent
  • Snap fuel receipts to keep them safe and reclaim the VAT
  • Your home and other private places are cut out of every route
📷

Safety cameras, speed limits and average speed zones

A spoken heads-up before fixed, average speed and red light cameras, and the speed limit on screen as you drive.

  • Through an average speed zone, RumFuel shows your running average so you know you’re fine
  • A gentle reminder if you go over the limit, at most once a minute
  • Live mobile speed van reports from other drivers
🧭

Sat-nav with live traffic

Turn-by-turn directions with clear spoken instructions, and speed cameras and fuel prices along the way.

  • Steers around road closures and serious accidents, and tells you about delays ahead
  • Choose the fastest route or the fewest miles, and see what each is worth in mileage claims
  • Download maps of your area so navigation keeps working with no signal
  • Flat, tilted or 3D map, 3D buildings in towns, or satellite view
🎥

A dash cam on your phone

Mount your phone and RumFuel records on a loop while you drive. After hard braking or a bump it saves the clip by itself, so you have it if you ever need it.

  • Clips stay on your phone and are never uploaded
🚗

On your car’s screen with Android Auto

See your speed, the speed limit, camera warnings and traffic ahead on your car’s display, and find the cheapest fuel without picking up your phone.

Questions

Where do the fuel prices come from?

From the UK government’s Fuel Finder scheme. Fuel stations have to report their prices, and update them within 30 minutes of a change. Prices can still occasionally be wrong, so check the pump before you fill up. You can report a wrong price in the app.

Is the mileage log good enough for HMRC?

RumFuel records the date, start and end, miles and purpose of each business trip, and works out the approved mileage allowance (45p a mile for the first 10,000 business miles in a tax year, 25p after that, for cars and vans). You can export it as a PDF or spreadsheet. Keep your own records too, and ask an accountant if you’re unsure what you can claim.

Does automatic trip logging drain my battery?

It uses your phone’s location only while you’re moving, and stops when you park. Most people won’t notice it. On some Android phones you need to let RumFuel run in the background in the battery settings, or trips may be missed.

What happens to my location data?

Your trips are stored in your RumFuel account so we can build your mileage log. They’re never sold or used for advertising, and routes are cut out near your home and any private places you set. Dash cam clips never leave your phone. You can download or delete everything from the app at any time. Read the privacy policy for the details.

Are speed camera alerts legal?

Yes. Apps that warn about speed cameras are legal in the UK. RumFuel is there to help you drive safely, not to help you speed: always keep to the speed limit. Camera locations may be incomplete.

Will I be charged when the free Pro trial ends?

No. The trial needs no card. A day or two before it ends we’ll remind you, and if you do nothing you simply move back to the free version.

Is there an iPhone version?

RumFuel is coming to Android first. An iPhone version is planned; email us if you’d like to hear when it’s ready.

How do I delete my account?

In the app, go to You → Privacy & your data → Delete my account. It removes your account and everything in it. See how to delete your account.
